Diversity and Inclusion Statement

Uniqueness is powerful. The Ritz Theatre Company is unequivocally and wholeheartedly devoted to celebrating and illuminating a diversity of voices and visions not just on our stage, but beyond our stage. Our continuous goal is to make our theatre as all-inclusive and all-embracing as can be, to create and cultivate an environment of diversity and inclusivity that is both reflective and supportive of the vibrant, multicultural community we serve.
Over the last four mainstage seasons (2021-2025):
- 51% of the shows feature a BIPOC artist in a leadership role (Director, Assistant Director, Music Director, Choreographer).
- 50% of the shows feature a BIPOC artist in a principal or supporting role.
- 29% of all the artists featured on our stage since 2021 have been BIPOC.
- 31% of our mainstage programming directly explores or celebrates the culture of a marginalized community.
- 57% of our mainstage productions have been helmed by a BIPOC, LGBTQ, or female director.
- Every single season since our return from COVID has featured a BIPOC and LGBT director.
- 34% of the shows featured a non-binary or trans artist and those artists were featured in either lead or supporting roles 58% of the time.
